A graphic designer has assessed the notices on bus stops of temporary schedule changes and found them unhelpful and angst inducing. Many professionals have expertise that could improve transit usability but they are never asked even when the cost is small and the improvements easy and cheap to implement. A culture of incremental improvement or even assessing problems is not the usual method of conducting business at most public transit organizations. It is more usual to implement an expensive non-working high tech scheme for a non-existent problem like RFID fare cards or GPS tracking or covering transit windows with advertising than to find real problems and fix them.
